Harlem United provides quality HIV/AIDS prevention and care services with a mission of creating zero disparity in health outcomes due to racial and economic barriers. Harlem United has created and implemented compassionate, concrete, and culturally sensitive HIV/AIDS-related services for the Greater Harlem community. Harlem United remains a client of LAPA; we provide grant writing and technical assistance to the agency.

Project Greenhope was established in 1975 in a convent that was transformed into a comprehensive residential treatment program for formerly incarcerated women. Over the years, it has developed formal relationships with the criminal justice system and has expanded its work to include services for women on parole and those referred by the courts as an alternative to incarceration. Project Greenhope is a former LAPA client, and Dr. Elliott is a former member of LAPA’s CEOs Together executive coaching group.
