Board Development
LAPA
can help you address
Board composition and development. We have
four services. We usually recommend the first service
because it is the most practical and affordable.
Board
Assessment & Plan
This facilitated self-assessment examines twelve areas
of Board governance as suggested by the National Center
for Nonprofit Boards.
The process includes an initial Board discussion, a detailed self-assessment survey that is then compiled into a report of our findings, and a full-day board retreat to review the findings and create a practical six- to twelve-month Board work plan, with assignments and timelines.

Board
Recruitment
Recruitment begins with an exercise to identify
the Board needs and sources of additional Board members. Under the direction of the current board or
advisors, we help establish a board development committee
with clear tasks and responsibilities.

Board
Roles & Responsibilities NYC Board of Directors
This special conference day for Board of directors
reviews some of the best practices (and legal obligations)
that non-profit board members are following in doing
business with the City of New York.

CEO
Workshop
This one-day workshop is designed for executive directors
and provides techniques for Board management. The workshop explores common challenges that
CEOs face and provides recommendations for shared
leadership.
We offer extensive consideration to the negotiation
of contractual responsibilities and executive compensation.
The workshop includes take home action plans
and sample contracts for compensation.
